A Birthday Filled with New Experiences

On July 13th I celebrated my 31st birthday with a fabulous day around Seattle. I started the morning by opening several gifts from Dan and his family. From here we headed over to Capitol Hill to try a new breakfast spot called Table 219. I had read about this restaurant in Seattle Metropolitan Magazine and had wanted to try their French Toast. It definitely did not disappoint!! After breakfast Dan took me to Swanson's Nursery to pick out flowers for my flower pots. With Rufus tagging along we decided to make a quick stop to throw his ball at the school next to the Nursery. He was in doggie heavan! That evening we picked up mom and Amy and headed to the Triple Door where we saw Jesse Cook perform a flamenco guitar show. As this is the type of show we will see in Spain, it made us super excited for our trip. It was such a blast!!! Not to mention the food at the Triple Door is provided by Wild Ginger (my favorite)!! It truly was one of my favorite birthdays full of new experiences!!

This video doesn't even do it justice. For most of the show he had an entire band with him.

Happy 4th of July!

We spent the 4th of July at mom's condo. We enjoyed yummy food and a spectacular fireworks show on Lake Union.

One Happy Family

Rufus is loving having his Dad out of school and his family together all the time. Unfortunately, summer school starts for Dan tomorrow, but luckily it is only an intense 4 weeks. We have loved having Dan home on break :)

Magnuson Park on a HOT Afternoon

Last weekend the temperature reached well into the 90's, so to take full advantage Dan and I headed down to Magnuson park on Lake Washington to enjoy the sun. We had a fabulous view of Mt. Rainier.

Hawaiian Reception

On Sunday June 22nd we attended the Hawaiian wedding reception of our friends and neighbors, David and Alice, who were recently married in Hawaii. We had a great time chatting with our neighbors and enjoying some Hawaiian BBQ which included a roast pig.

One Year Down!!

After Lauren and Jim's wedding, we headed back to Seattle to join Dan's MBA teammates at the Salenski's house. Keeping with tradition, we all gathered together to celebrate the end of Spring quarter and the guys finishing their first year of MBA school.

Snoqualmie Falls Wedding

On Saturday June 21st we attended my office mate, Lauren's, wedding. Lauren works with the school of nursing as a practicum instructor for the nursing students. The wedding was at the Salish Lodge and took place outside right above Snoqualmie Falls. It was beautiful!! We had a lovely brunch with the best croissant french toast.

Jazz Alley

On Thursday June 19th Dan and I enjoyed a date night out at Jazz Alley to celebrate Dan finishing Spring Quarter. We saw Karrin Allyson who was singing a collection of Brasilian songs from her new grammy nominated album.

Father's Day in Chehalis

On June 14th Amy, Dan and I headed down to Chehalis to spend an enjoyable Father's Day weekend with my dad. We enjoyed great food, hanging outside on the deck chatting, taking a Sunday drive in dad's 55 Chevy, and a visit with Grandma Boes.
