Duck Hunt

So I must give Dan the credit for the title of this blog. On Saturday June 7th, Mr. and Mrs. Hunt (although Debbie I realize you are still a Toon), were married ON THE DUCK!! Hence the Duck Hunt :) Last month Debbie and I thought of the idea when we were riding the ferry home from the San Juan islands and had realized the San Juan's wouldn't work for the wedding location. Since the majority of the guests were from out of state, Debbie liked the idea of giving them a taste of Seattle and a wedding all in one!! We started the morning by meeting at the Marriott Residence Inn on Lake Union for pictures. At noon the "Duck" arrived at the hotel to pick us up for the wedding (Debbie rented out the entire Duck for the wedding party). We started the tour with the wedding on Lake Union officiated by Debbie's dad. From here we headed over to Fremont followed by a tour of the downtown highlights. Once we were done with the tour "The Duck" dropped us off at Daniel's Broiler for a fabulous lunch before heading back to the hotel for cake and a champagne toast given by Dan. Congratulations Debbie and Micheal!! We are going to miss you, but look forward to visiting you in San Diego.

The reception begins

At the reception each table gave a toast and said how they knew Debbie and Michael. Dan started us all off and acted as the MC for the day.

The morning of the wedding, Dan and I helped setup the centerpieces and flowers Debbie had picked out at Daniel's Broiler. Each table signed their duck with wedding wishes to the couple

Debbie and Michael's Rehearsal Dinner

On Friday June 6th, the eve before the big day, Dan and I joined Debbie and Michael's close family and friends for an enjoyable evening of food and fun at McCormick and Schmicks downtown. While I enjoyed my usual chicken marsala, the rest of the crowd enjoyed the heaping plates of seafood. We had a great time!

Debbie and Michael one day away from the big plunge (literally)

We had a great private room at McCormicks

Rachelle's Surprise Party

Last Thursday night, June 5th, I headed next door to help celebrate Rachelle's 35th birthday. Trent planned the surprise party with all of the 85 Stoner neighbors and Rachelle's close friends and family. We all hid behind the kitchen counter and waited for her to arrive home from work. She was truly surprised and Trent was so happy to have pulled it off.

Wugaboo Wins Big at MBA Business Plan Competition

On Thursday May 22nd Dan's Business Plan Competition team won 3rd Place and $5,000 after competing in the final sweet 16. The competition started back in January with 90 teams submitting business plan summaries. From there it was narrowed down to 34 teams who pitched their plans to local Venture Capitalist firms. During the sweet 16 round they pitched their plan again to the judges and it was narrowed down to the final 4. Congratulations Dan and the Wugaboo team!

Debbie and Michael's Wedding Shower

Last Saturday (May 31st) Dan and I planned a small wedding shower celebration for Debbie and Michael. We started by splitting up the girls and boys. Debbie and I went to In Spa for a manicure and pedicure while the boys headed to Redmond to go Go Karting. After this we came back together and went to dinner at Ray's boathouse. We sat outside right on the Puget Sound. From here we drove down to Golden Gardens to walk along the beach. We are looking forward to the wedding next weekend!!

For those of you still wondering where Debbie's wedding will take place...this picture gives you a small hint. Stay tuned to the blog for the wedding low down.

Amy's Birthday

On May 29th Dan and I joined Amy, Adam, and mom to celebrate Amy's 32nd Birthday at Steelhead Diner. We enjoyed watching Amy open her gifts and sending her good wishes for the year ahead.

If you look close you will see Howard Schultz, the Big Kahuna of Starbucks sitting behind Dan and I at dinner

The best chicken sandwich ever at Steelhead diner!!

Memorial Weekend BBQ

On the Sunday of Memorial Weekend we headed to the Fogel's home to enjoy a BBQ with Dan's MBA teammates. The weather was fabulous and we had a great time catching up with our friends. Dan was in charge of making the Margaritas. The Fogel's dogs, Beavis (who weighs more than me) and Princess Buttercup, also enjoyed the company.

Seattle Cheese Festival Followed by the Mighty Mort Spectacular

On Sunday May 18th Dan and I headed down to Pike Place Market for the Seattle Cheese Festival. I'm sure we probably sampled well over thirty cheeses and didn't even make it to every booth. We tried to narrow down our favorites, but it became more and more difficult with each sample. At the market we picked up a piece of Mortadella at Delaurentis so that we could prepare our first Mighty Mort and Parmesan Salad for dinner that night. Thanks to Mama Rossi for the special recipe given to Dan for his birthday. We were in Mighty Mort heavan!!

Dan bought a small block of this Blue Cheese

The food is prepared! Even Rufus is licking his chops!

Mariners Game with Mark and Erin

On May 17th we headed to a Mariners Game with our friends Mark and Erin. Before the game we went to their new home for a tour and Bratwursts. It was a warm day...perfect for sitting outside and watching a game. Dan and I met Mark when we went to Venice, Italy a few years ago. Mark was in line behind us for the water taxi and let us borrow a map. We found out then that he was an architect from Seattle. Fast forward a couple of years, and now Dan will be a groomsmen in Mark and Erin's wedding this August.
