Number 5 is Alive!

On the weekend of March 25th, Dan competed with his father-in-law, Jerry, in the Pike Place Market Centennial BBQ competition. This was their team 3 Alarm BBQ's 3rd competition. They started at 7pm on Saturday night and ended at 4pm on Sunday. Daniel took the early shift and didn't make it to bed until 4am. Lucky for him, he had the crack heads of Pike Place Market to keep him up and entertained while Jerry slept in the truck. At one point he thought he'd have to defend himself with a heavy duty spatula. The BBQ's burned hot with thick delicious smelling smoke for 15 hours. They cooked beef brisket, pork butt, chicken and ribs. Their team took 5th place on their pulled pork (winning $45) and 12th place overall out of 31 teams.
